Brickyard 400 Returning to August Date in 2023

Brickyard Weekend will take place Aug. 11-13, 2023, on the 14-turn, 2.439-mile IMS road course in three series.

The NASCAR Cup Series will return to the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval for the Brickyard 400 presented by PPG on July 19-21, 2023. It will be the first time since 2020 that the race has been held on the oval.

From 1994 to 2020, the Brickyard 400 was held on the 2.5-mile oval for a distance of 400 miles. The race was put on hiatus for three years (2021-2023) in favor of the Verizon 200 at the IMS road course.

The 2023 Brickyard 400 will be the 29th edition of the race. Jeff Gordon won the inaugural race in 1994, and Jimmie Johnson is the all-time leader with four victories.
