Celtics Hold Off Heat in Eastern Conference Finals

Boston Wins 111-101 to Advance to Championship Series

The Boston Celtics held off a late charge from the Miami Heat to conclude a grueling seven-game series and advance to the NBA Finals for the first time in 12 years. The Celtics beat the Heat 111-101 in a thrilling Game 7 on Sunday night at TD Garden.

The Heat, who were led by Jimmy Butler's 28 points, made a late run in the fourth quarter to cut the Celtics' lead to just two points. However, the Celtics held on and got some crucial stops down the stretch to seal the victory.

Derrick White led the Celtics with 24 points, while Marcus Smart added 23 points and 10 rebounds. Jayson Tatum also played well for the Celtics, finishing with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

The Celtics will now face the Western Conference Champion Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. The Warriors, who are seeking their eighth NBA title in the past 11 years, defeated the Dallas Mavericks in six games to advance.

The NBA Finals begin on Thursday, June 1st at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
